In the Pottery area we have a selection of pottery tools for hand building, a wedging table, 4 throwing wheels, a selection of underglaze colors, wax resist, and clear glaze. We are currently providing small amounts of clay for introduction, measured amounts of clay for purchase and shelf space for your own box of clay. Firing (bisque to Cone 05 and glaze to Cone 6) in our Cone Arts Model 2327 Electric Kiln is scheduled as needed when our racks of works in progress fill up.
As dust is always a concern with pottery, there are strict cleaning requirements. There are posters that outline all procedures in the areas they pertain to.

Big clunks of clay get picked up an put in reclaim. Leatherhard clay that has been trimmed get swept with the hand broom or picked up and thrown out.
For everything else there are two basic rules- clean wet and don't put the waste water down the sink. Don't make a mess you can't clean and have a plan for the water you will use because once your hands are coated in clay you are already in a place where you can't was them. We use a bucket to let waste clay settle out of waste water, if you don't know the system ask anyone or go to a monday night gathering. If you wheel throw we should not be able to tell what kind of clay you were using when you are done cleaning up. Check the floor and walls!
