Code of Conduct

The Kwartzlab Code of Conduct is a document highlighting the expectations for all individuals that participate in Kwartzlab's space, and notes the steps to address unacceptable behaviour. Each member agrees to be bound by this document as part of the membership inteview process.

Summarized Code of Conduct

1. We have a code of conduct to make Kwartzlab safe, supportive, and inclusive.
2. We also want to nurture the maker culture, citizenship, and the relationships therein.
3. Expected behaviour of members and guests is to participate, be respectful, be considerate, and be mindful of others.
4. Please address unacceptable behaviour directly, or notify a member of the Board of Directors as soon as possible.
5. Unacceptable behaviour takes many forms against both individuals and the community as a whole.
6. Be safe - use PPE, get trained on equipment you're not familiar with, and if you see someone not doing so address it immediately.
7. Anyone behaving unacceptably must cease immediately. Consequences of continued misbehaviour could be removal from the space, a visitation ban, membership suspension, or membership termination.
8. The Board of Directors is responsible for the safety and security of Kwartzlab, and may investigate before deciding on a situation resolution.
9. If membership is terminated as a result of a Code of Conduct complaint, the decision could be appealed.
10. Guest and members have a right to privacy, all investigations and decisions made by the Board of Directors are kept in confidence.
11. Everyone participating in Kwartzlab events is subject to this Code of Conduct.
12. The Board of Directors will engage with law enforcement as needed.
