The City of Kitchener donated a number of pieces of surplus equipment to Kwartzlab, including a Rockwell RC33 planar. It is currently a work in progress bringing it online.

Planar manual saved on Google Drive.

Work Required To Get It Working

The summary of work needed is:

  1. drain and refill gearbox (gear oil on-hand)
  2. verify top and bottom are parallel to each other
  3. verify feed function
  4. replace belts (see below)
  5. remove, sharpen, and reset blades (blade setting tools on-hand)

Parts

Belts are "551 Gates Truflex 1280RT", part number CGC 81.083.804/0002-71. Measureed width is 3/8", height is 1/4". Current Truflex catalogue (https://www.gates.com/content/dam/gates/home/knowledge-center/resource-library/catalogs/power-transmission-catalog.pdf) states the 3L size belts should be 3/8" wide by 7/32" (.218") tall. Measured outer circumference is 27 7/8". Searching the part numbers has not yielded results I'd trust, probably best to go through a distributor that can cross-reference all required info.
