Consumables Policy

Consumables here function in a ‘take a penny, leave a penny’ system. Use whatever you want and when you next have left overs from a project consider donating them to the lab. E.g. electronics components, fabric, paint, yarn, etc.
There are a few exception to this general policy:
- special consumables that are well marked or covered in training as being used only during training or are available to members for a fee.
- going into production: If you are Doing Business at Kwartzlab you are expected to bring your own supplies
- taking material for scrap: without prior consent of the board
You can generally assume that materials left in an area are free to use unless labeled and dated. That also means it's critical to put your name (and date) on everything you bring into the lab, as materials without clear labelling may appear to be free to use. Do not store your materials anywhere outside of designated areas.
