Purchasing Filament from Lab

The 3D Printer Team keeps a few extra spools of Bambu Lab PLA on hand that can be purchased by members. When available, each spool is $35, paid in cash to a member of the 3D Printing team.

If you are interested in purchasing a spool, tag @3dprintingteam on the #area-3d-printing channel to check which colours are available.

Requesting New Filaments

The filaments that have been approved for use at Kwartzlab all meet the following criteria:

  • The filament is easy to print and works with either Generic or Bambu-provided profiles
  • The filament material doesn't generate strong fumes or pose a health hazard
  • The filament does not cause excessive wear and tear on the printers or their nozzles (No abrasive additives)
  • The filament is not likely to cause maintenance issues (shattering, inconsistent composition)
  • The filament is from a well-established brand, and is easy to acquire.

If you want to propose a new filament for approval for use at the lab, please tag @3dprinterteam on slack in the #area-3d-printing channel.
