==Safety Info==

In addition to the [[Woodshop Rules]],

* Keep your fingers at least one inch from the sanding surface

* Keep the workpiece in contact with the rest

* When using the disc, always work on the side where the sandpaper is traveling down

==Training Info==

Before training on any particular tool in the woodshop, you must complete the general woodshop training which covers safety and rules that are universal for all woodshop equipment).

After that, you may complete the online portion of training via google classroom (See quick info), then you should be contacted to arrange in-person training. Otherwise, an in person portion can be coordinated by posting to the [https://kwartzlab.slack.com/archives/CE1KX2S0M #area-wood-shop slack channel]

==Consumables==

The lab will replace the disc if/when it gets too worn, and should not be swapped by members. The lab also provides a 120 grit belt, but members may supply their own belts as well. The supplied 120 grit belt should always be put back on when you're finished. The belts are 6"x48"
