Washing the Build Plate

The removable build plate in the Bambu Lab printers occasionally requires cleaning to remove contaminants such as skin oils, filament dander, etc.

If you are finding that your first layer is not sticking to the bed, the first thing that you should try is washing the build plate.

How to wash the build plate:

1. Remove the build plate from the magnetic base.
2. Using the sink in Layup (not the Kitchen!), take a small amount of dish soap (just under a pea-sized amount) on a paper towel and rub it all over the build plate using light pressure.
3. Rinse the build plate with water.
4. Repeat above steps for the other side.
5. Using a new piece of paper towel, dry both sides of the build plate.
6. Reinstall the build plate in the machine and try your print again.
